For our March Drive and Dine we will be heading to the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club (BH19 3AB) log in for more details.
Rich in history and beautiful inside and out, Amberley Castle will make for a wonderful destination for our drive where we will then be treated to a gastronomic lunch. We have booked private dining in their Great Room, which was built in 1165 and is a fine example of Norman architecture with its high lancet windows, open fireplace, oak flooring, tapestry and suits of armour. Amberley Castle has a long held reputation for delivering outstanding cuisine, and the selected menu (attached for your information) sounds delicious. This unique venue benefits from a long driveway up to the gatehouse, either side of which we will be invited to park our cars, which should make a for a great photograph.
The plan for the day would be as follows:
11.00: Meet at The Queens Head at East Clandon
11.30: Set off in batches of cars on a pre-assigned route*
12.30: Arrive at the castle for a glass of bubbles
13.00: Lunch
15:00: Live video chat with Phil, dialling in from New York
16.00: Departure at your leisure (we have the room booked for the whole afternoon)
