Area 22 - Fish and French Fries Drive Out
If you like driving and fish and chips, this is the event for you.
We shall RV at the Severn View Services at 0930 for a 1000 start. Crossing the bridge we head along the valley to Usk and on to Abergavenny. Its then along the Heads of the Valley Road to eventually to turn north through the Brecon Beacons National Park to Brecon. Great roads, including the Sennybridge military ranges, bring us to Upper Chapel, Beulah and Rhayader and eventually to Aberdyfi. It is here that we park up on the seafront and enjoy the fish and chips. Every time I have been the sun has been shining but this is not guaranteed. It is a brilliant 140 miles of driving. The road home follows a gentle path back through Wales towards Gloucestershire.
I have been driving this route annually since 2010; every time it throws up different challenges. Let me know at area22@amoc.org if you would like to join in.
