The Area 20 Cornwall Weekend 12-14 April 2019

Report written by Tim Hipwell, Photos by Time Hipwell & Barry Mansfield

Huge thanks to Tim and Hannah Whale for a fantastic "Cornwall Weekend". Set at the stunning Carbis Bay Hotel we had a fantastic time. Some amazing cars present, including the awesome DBS Superleggara, and of course their lovely owners. Really good to welcome lots of members from other areas, some who had travelled quite a distance such as new friends Ron and Judith from Norfolk.

A really interesting visit to Pendennis Shipyard on Saturday morning to see "super yachts" being constructed and refurbished (No photos due to understandable confidentially). Thanks to Bentley Orchard for the piping hot lunch - you had to be there. Onward then to Pendennis Castle where the local Royal Artillery Sergeant gave us an insight to the "half moon battery" sighted there.

The Carbis Bay Hotel looked after us all very well over the weekend especially the excellent meal in the Beach club on the Saturday evening. Unfortunately the weather turned somewhat damp on the Sunday which made for a rather murky drive along the north Cornish coast to the Sunday lunch at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant before everyone made their way home.

Thanks again to all involved in another superb Area 20 event.
