2016 ended with a fantastic Christmas Party held at the Mullion Cove Hotel which was attended by 60 Members and guests and was enjoyed so much that we have already booked again for next year. Quite a few people arrived the night before and made a weekend of it so it was a great chance to catch up with friends for a pre- party meal.
We were extremely well looked after by the hotel, the food was excellent and the rooms very comfortable. We had the added benefit of having the hotels to ourselves having booked up all the rooms which I think makes such a difference to the atmosphere of the weekend. After a fabulous meal we had the traditional end of year speeches including the annual photograph competition which this year was won by Nigel and Mary from Area 15 who submitted a fabulous image from their epic adventure in South America. We also help the Club elections for 2017 and I will continue for one final year before someone, as yet unknown, will take over from me.
The chance was also taken to thank Tim Hipwell, who has been our Webmaster for the last 6 years. He has stepped down because he and Georgie have some exciting adventures lined up this year and it would not be practical to continue in the role. We look forward to hearing about what you both get up to on your travels.
A brilliant evening, and weekend for many, and we hope that our 2017 celebration will be as well supported.
