28 members and one guest met at the Irchester Bowls Club, where we all brought food to share. The spread was fantastic, with meats, salads, savouries, cheeses and desserts being devoured with relish.
Once the food had been eaten Chris called the meeting to order and we began the discussion by reviewing this year and reminding everyone Chris would be standing down as area rep.
If you wish to stand as rep or assistant rep please advise Chris or Mark before the end of January as if more than one person wishes to stand then an election needs to take place and we wish to make sure that goes into February's News Sheet ready for a March election.
With regards to the post of Area Rep we believe it is a good idea for the rep to hold this post for a term of three years thus giving freshness to the area, also it was suggested that should two people wish to be assistants then we should have two assistants to help spread the workload.
Mark then discussed the issues of finding good venues for the monthly meetings and suggested that some meeting venues should be kept each year and some good suggestions came from the members forwent venues for us to follow up.
So far we had been keeping meeting strictly within the boundaries of Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire with the occasional foray into Milton Keynes but it was agreed that meetings could be held just over the borders if necessary to find good venues.
