Area 15 Rep | Published on 5/1/2021

Mark Writes

Our March Area Zoom meeting confirmed myself as Area Rep and Andrew as Assistant Rep and we thank you for your support.

I also presented the area accounts and they were accepted with no queries.

Rob Smith, the Chairman of AMHT kindly gave us a great talk about some of the artefacts in the Trusts collection, including a few of the recent acquisitions. It was a very informal discussion where he challenged us to identify some of them, which we did to mixed success.

He also explained that the cars that were temporarily outside the barn are all now safely stored, bar one which is stuck in gear but will be dealt with soon. Rob also included Tickford in his presentation and their association with AML and he revealed he now has a personal connection to them, in the form of a new personal project. Thank you Rob for a very entertaining evening.

The Road out of Lockdown seems to be still on course but it may change over the next few months, so I will keep you up to date with events etc. We are still planning to fit in as many events as possible in the second half of the year but most will probably be from July onwards and we will spread them around the Area, to allow as many of you as possible to join in.

It looks like the earliest "proper" Area 15 meetings we will be able to hold, are likely to be towards to end of June but the May meeting will be held on 27th May via Zoom, when I hope to have a speaker to entertain you, along with the usual Area 15 banter, details to follow soon.

Meanwhile continue to be patient, fettle your cars and we look forward to seeing you

Safe Driving!
