Happy New Year to all in Area 06.

42 attended our Christmas Lunch at The Old Swan Harrogate on 15 December with 12 going on afterwards to Harrogate Theatre’s production of Beauty & The Beast. From the raffle and Auction at the lunch we raised £792 for cancer research so thank you to everyone who contributed.

Our first meeting of 2025 at Murgatroyds fish restaurant on Saturday 1 February had 44 members attending with 12 Astons in the car park. It was pleasing to meet 8 new members.

For our 6 March monthly evening meeting a booking has been made at the Blue Bell at Arkendale HG5 0QT from 7.00pm. There are 4 rooms available for anyone wishing to stay overnight on a first come first served basis. Further details available via the Area 06 email and in the Area upcoming events section.

In spring our first drive-over of 2025 is to The Inn on The Lake in Glenridding for a two-night stay 28/29 March 2025. The original allocation of rooms has been sold out, but rooms may still be available by calling the Hotel.

For the Club's 90th Anniversary on 25th May 2025 Aston Martin Leeds is looking at sponsoring a drive-out on the day so please register your interest by email to area6@amoc.org for details to be sent when available.

Our final monthly meeting of the year saw 28 members enjoying a Saturday Lunchtime Fish & Chips at Murgatroyds on 2November.

Christmas 2024

Late bookings can still be taken for our Christmas Lunch is at The Old Swan Harrogate on 15 December. Once again to follow on from lunch some members are going to the Harrogate Theatre Panto’s production of Beauty & The Beast matinee 5.00pm performance. Tickets for seating together have now been purchased for those who have previously paid, but this doesn’t prevent anyone else joining us but seating with the group cannot be guaranteed.

Early 2025

A note for your diary that the first monthly meeting of 2025 takes place on Saturday lunchtime on 1 February at Murgatroyd’s Fish Restaurant. More details will follow in January.

Looking forward to next spring Steve has arranged to revisit The Inn on The Lake in Glenridding for a two-night stay 28/29 March 2025. The original allocation of rooms has now either been booked or released so any further bookings are subject to availability.If you are joining us please let Steve know when you have a confirmed booking.

On the Saturday the intention is to take a cruise on Ullswater Steamer up to Pooley Bridge for a pre booked lunch at Granny Dobekins tea rooms – wwwgrannydowbekins.co.uk returning on the steamer mid pm back to Glenridding for a relaxed evening. For our return drive home on Sundaythere is an optional late morning visit provisionally arranged to the Lakeland Motor Museum in Ulverston LA12 8TA where lunch can be bought. To assist in planning and what places to book and where please let Steve know if you want to join  in the proposed activities.

Later 2025

It’s the Clubs 90^thAnniversary on 25^th May 2025 and each Area is being asked to try to host an event in celebration of this around this time. This happens to be spring bank holiday which is not ideal but realising this the club is being flexible about dates around the anniversary. Various options are currently being considered for either Saturday 17 or 31 May so make a note of these dates for something different details of which will follow when finalised.

The 4 October 2025 Drive-over we head for the Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith, EH6 6JJ where we have a provisional booking for the evening private tour followed by an overnight stay on the nearby sister ship Fingal. Please see the details in the event post on area 06 webpage or contact Steve Gash for further information
