Area 22 June Calendar
June and still hoping for Summer!
But we don’t hang around and we begin the month with the AGM at the Frogmill Inn as part of our monthly meeting. As I intermated last month, changes are in the offing as Chris and I will not be standing for re- election although we will affect a handover to the end of the year. So what is it like to the Area Rep? We will discuss it at the AGM!
23 June brings us Astons in the Orchard – the Return. We invited Area 5 to join us, and this has resulted in the largest meeting we have organised with 40 cars and 70 people booked to attend. Phil tells me there is still room in his orchard so if you wish to attend, please let me know at Area22@amoc.org before Sunday 9 June. Information is on the Area 22 website page. l shall be sending out further details to those attending in the next few days.
The July monthly meeting on Wednesday 3 July is a joint meeting with Area 10 at the Feathered Nest, Nether Westcote OX7 6SD. I am coordinating this meeting, Chris is on holiday. It will be a Pizza Evening with pizza cooked to order at £16 a head. If you intend to be there, please let me know at Area22@amoc.org. We shall be eating outdoors if the sun shines and it will be a great opportunity to meet our friends from the “east”.
There is no specific Area 22 event in July as the calendar is full of local and national events for you to enjoy.
Saturday 3 August is our visit to Avro Vulcan XM655 at Wellesbourne. This event is limited to 12 cars and we have 6 booked to date. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to take a trip into the Cold War of the 60’s. Have a look at The History of XM655 | XM655 Maintenance and Preservation Society.
Tuesday 20 August is a very important date and the Drive for Rory event. Rory, and others like him, need our help. I have explained the story of Rory on the website under Area 22 Drives for Rory - Aston Martin Owners Club (amoc.org). I will send out details of the event shortly but please put this date in your diary.
Details of all events are on the website under Area 22 - Gloucestershire - Aston Martin Owners Club (amoc.org). If you want to come along to any of the events let me know at area22@amoc.org. Chris and I hope to see you at as many events as you can manage.
