Area 22 November Calendar

The clocks have gone back, the early evenings are darker and Christmas is on the horizon. Doom and gloom .. not at all. The new management team is firmly in place now and attempting to get to grips with the AMOC Club Express and email processes. You may find a few strange looking emails in your inbox but we shall persevere.

The team meets on 4 November to start putting the 2025 calendar together so watch this space in December.

Nicky and I will be representing our Area at the AMOC UK Area Reps meeting in Coventry on 9 November and we will report back to you on the interesting facts!

So, what is happening in the Area?

The monthly meeting on Thursday 7 November is at The Royal Oak, Leighterton. Those going should already have advised Mike and sent their menu choices.

Tuesday 12 November is the first of two events this month. This is the visit to CLASS Class - Classic & Luxury Auto Specialist Services in Gloucester, England We are hosted by Paul Mount, an Area 22 member whom many of you will know. The details of the event have been promulgated by Ray and he should be contacted if you wish to attend. area22events@amoc.org

Saturday 23 November we have the last event of the year, Cotswold Navigation Capers which will be a continuation of the “Rory Story”. A fun event to which you can bring any car. Once again, contact Ray if you wish to attend.

Thursday 12 December brings us the last meeting of the year, the Winter Gathering at the Frogmill Inn. Mike is in charge, see the website for details. If you are planning to attend this great event please tell Mike at area22meetings@amoc.org, there is a £20 per person non-returnable deposit to pay (If you do not know the bank details Mike will tell you). Rooms can still be booked directly with the hotel (mention AMOC).

We are planning ahead into 2025 and the New Year Brunch will be held at the Ragged Cot, Minchinhampton on Saturday 4 January at 1230. This provides a great start to the year in a relaxed, informal manner. Mike will contact you with details much nearer the time.

Before I go, I would mention the Classic Car Show held 8 – 10 November at the NEC. AMOC will have a presence there, claim your free cup pf coffee. Also Alan Richell is inviting Area 22 to the Christmas Wine Tasting event at The Curious Wine Cellar, Northleach GL54 3EG on Sunday 24 November. This a brilliant social afternoon held from 1500 to 1800. Do try to get along.

So a busy few weeks ahead … Andrew
