Firstly, the fiftieth anniversary of the Dick Lovett Group - that resulted in the opening of their new Aston Martin franchise - was marked by the official welcome for AMOC at the new premises. Some 200 plus visitors, mostly Club members, enjoyed champagne and canapés whilst touring the new facilities. Some members also took advantage of the free car health check, including a good look underneath their cars (for some, a first).

The event also included a presentation to Area 4 member, Michael Pye, who has owned his DB6 Vantage from new since 1966. Club Chairman, John Purser presented Michael with a specially commissioned photograph of the car after saying a few words to thank our host, Aaron Allnutt, dealer principal, who welcomed AMOC. Area Rep Andrew Fawkes’s address explained the background to the presentation before Aaron ‘unveiled’ Michael’s car… 1966 all over again.

Andrew then handed over a magnum of the Club’s sponsor Champaign Taittinger to Michael. Aaron then delighted Michael with a hologram model of his car which, as Michael insisted, was always the star. Aaron also presented a lovely bouquet to Rosemary Pye to complete the celebrations.

1966 all over again... Michael’s DB6 Vantage is unveiled.
