Area 5 were invited to RAF Shawbury friends and family day. Not open to the general public this day is a fun day to thank all the RAF support network. Those who are interested in aircraft are usually interested in other fine machinery and Astons certainly fitted that bill. It was good to be part of a display that included helicopters and various military aircraft. RAF Shawbury is the training centre for helicopters in the UK.
The day saw absolutely glorious weather. We were treated to a full on display by the Red Arrows- they like to do their own proud when it comes to a special display. Parachute jump displays, helicopter flying displays and an awesone flying display by a Tornado.
The day was finished off after we were escorted out of the base by a meal at a local hostelry.
A fabulous day for us in the Astons and another chance to support our military.
