Once again, Andy and Katy Fowkes kindly invited us to enjoy a picnic at their lovely home on the Gower Peninsula. And once again the weather was perfect... in fact the hottest day of the year so far!
Not only is their garden wonderful to behold (Katy's the gardener, Andy's the labourer... I'm familiar with that domestic arrangement
😉), but it also includes an island in the stream that once fed their waterwheel. The island is big enough to play football on, as your Area Reps' son Max was eager to try out. That was after an exhaustive exploration armed with a fishing net. One of the three rope swings was also popular.
All the while, the adults sat in the shade (apart from during the football match) and the cars roasted in the sunshine outside host Andy's garage. Perhaps unusually, all of the cars present were different models with two limited editions (Spitfire V12 Vantage and Bond Edition DB9 GT).
After lots of chat, a casual stroll around the grounds, plenty of fresh lemonade and satiated appetites, we departed for our respective homes. No prizes for guessing who enjoyed a movie whilst being chauffeured home in daddy's Rapide.
A huge thank you to Katy and Andy for looking after us all so well.

A more pastoral form of transport!
