Brooklands Museum visit of Feltham era Astons with Swedish AMOC Members
Swedish club members, Per Jansson and Tryggve Schreiber had driving to the UK with their DB2/4 and DB2 DHC for the Goodwood Revival and suggested they would like to meet some other Feltham Aston Martin owners during their visit. With the growing group of people we have who enjoy driving these cars Brooklands was chosen as the venue on a date just after Goodwood.
With the period club house, scoreboard and surrounding buildings Brooklands provided the perfect setting for our gathering. The motor museum offers lots to see including Aston Martin Razor Blade, the Halford Special the Lagonda M45 Le Mans Replica plus the aircraft hangers, Concorde, the workshops, motorbikes, cycles and the bus museum.
On the day , it was a pleasure to meet our colleagues from Sweden: 20 people with nine Astons covering everything from a ‘Washboard’ DB2 DHC and DB2 DHC, DB2/4 and 2/4 MkII and DB MkIII plus two Lagondas; my 1933 16/80 (the excuse being that my MkIII is undergoing a restoration) and a 2½ Litre Saloon which the owner had brought from Stoke-on-Trent, via the Cotswolds and Goodwood, returning via Hanworth Park House in Feltham.
Having driven from Stockholm, some 1,900km, Per and Tryggve challenged the group to a rematch next year in Gothenburg so who knows, perhaps the Feltham Group will be on a Scandinavian tour in 2024?
