AMOC UAE Spring Breakfast Meet-up

Our first get together of 2020 was delayed till March 7th for various reasons. The plan for the day was to meet up, drive through the coastal village of Jumeriah and on to the Port Rashid area of Dubai where we would partake in some breakfast and light refreshments.
We met at 8.00am in a car park next to the beach behind Sunset Mall in Jumeirah. After introductions to new members, and the obligatory viewing of each others’ cars, we beat a rapid departure before the local traffic wardens woke up and realised that there was money to be made on their patch.
From the meet-up location we headed north in convoy through Jumeriah, along the coastal village road to Port Rashid for approximately 12km. After mingling with other traffic we turned into Port Rashid Industrial Sector, past the warehouses and service centres, and on to our destination, the Riders Station Café.
Taking all the available car parking spaces, we took up residence on the 1st floor balcony, with great views over the private yacht marina, with the cruise ships and the QE2 in the distance. We were also on the main flight-path from Dubai International Airport, so we had views of the aircraft taking off every few minutes too.
The weather was very kind to us, at approximately 23 degrees celsius, with a cooling light breeze coming in from the sea, which made for an ideal setting to enjoy a mixture of breakfast delights.
The conversation quickly turned to the cars, with the new members finding out just how like-minded we are in AMOC UAE. The coincidences of the same cars owned past and present brought about tales of ownership at times with different friends and places. The AMOC truly is a club for and of all.
Late morning, with the refreshments and banter finished off, it was time for farewells with everyone looking forward to the next meet. A great first meet-up of 2020 at this fantastic new venue overlooking the sea.
