Our First get together of 2019 was delayed until Feb.1st., The Drive Day – Coast to Coast & Return.
7.30 am morning meet, for Refreshments at the UAE Arabian Coast Hotel, The One & Only.
15 Aston Martin Cars, 23 Drivers & Guests, including a retired ex-military operative with the early British presence in this area.
8.45 am all Cars started on ceremony, the Hotel knew we were departing, and so begins 140 Klms
drive East, on multi-lane highways for a coffee-stop at The Hatta Fort Hotel, nestled at the base of the Hajar mountains, bordering the UAE and Oman.
11.30 back on the road, with 150 Klms drive North via the picturesque ‘Driver’s Road’ through the Mountains to Kalba on the Oman Gulf Coast. Refuel and continue North onto Fujairah, and the Radisson Blue Hotel we were treated to a VIP Reception & sumptuous Buffet Lunch, overlooking the Blue waters of the Oman Gulf. Much admiration and photographs of the Astons parked on the Lawn overlooking the sea lapping the shore.
Keeping with the schedule and departing at 3.30 pm, we drove South through Fujairah and turning West to join highway E84 and onto the E102 to Dubai, 200 Klms to the start point of the day, The One & Only Hotel, on the UAE Coast.
