This month's report is the last one for 2020 and hopefully 2021 will be kinder to us and most of the fun we had planned for this year, will be transposed to 2021.

The venue for our Christmas party have been very accommodating and have agreed to postpone it until 11th December 2021.

Once we can do so, I think a post Covid party is something that needs to be done, to release some  pent up fun and frolics, watch this space…..

In the absence of news, I asked members to submit a brief summary of how they came to the Aston Martin family.

This month, member Barry France, explains: At the age of 6, in 1973 my father bought a DB6 Vantage, then in 1976 he bought another DB6 Vantage with the intention of restoring the first one to concours standard. Being fascinated with the project my father had undertaken, I helped him where possible. As a family we enjoyed many memorable days out in the second DB6, as he was a club member.

At 26 I wanted to buy an Aston, deciding I would like a DBSV8 with a manual gearbox but for some reason I bought a DBS Vantage instead. Not really being what I wanted I saved up and in 1995 I bought a 1973 V8 with a DBSV8 engine. I sold the Vantage in 2003 but still have the 1973 V8.

Since then, I bought 2005 Vanquish S in November 2018. My dream is to own a DB4 one day, I HOPE!!!!

Have a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and New Year.
