Area 4 at Holly House Classic

Andrew Fawkes (Area 4 Rep) | Published on 8/31/2022
Area 5 Member, Colin Sinclair, has on a number of occasions hosted an annual charity garden party - Classic Cars at Holly House -  at his lovely home near Hereford. The event, in aid of local charities, attracts a wide selection of cars of all ages, a few classic and modern motorcycles and many admirers from far and wide.

This year there was no diary clash in the Area 4 calendar and so we were delighted to be able to attend. A small convoy of Astons set off from Magor Services on the M4 after meeting up with Area 18's Steve and Joan Cottrell.

Your author's DB9 GT 'Bond Edition' led the way, followed by the Cottrells' Virage Volante and the Gerrings' V12 Zagato followed by 'sweeper', the Kings' Rapide S. It's unusual to see any convoy that consists of different model and colours (silver, red, green and blue, respectively).

On arrival we were met by a rapidly filling paddock with, eventually, 25 Astons from numerous AMOC Areas. The range included a new DBX, a GT12, a DB5 and a couple of DB6s. The owners' classic V8 was the only one of its type, but, rather unusually these days, there were 3 classic Virages, two of them being Volantes.

Chat and picnic, plus wandering around the superbly varied display of vehicles, was the order of the day. The following photos give a flavour. Although the clouds look rather menacing, it didn't rain and the weather was pleasant for picnicking.

Thank you Colin Sinclair for a terrific day out and to everyone who supported the event and its charitable contribution.
