Since our last update, Area 00 has maintained the momentum from earlier in the year.
In July, many of us independently drove the Furka Pass in Switzerland all in the space of one week, an Aston Martin pilgrimage location!!
I was sad not to be able to join Peter and Jocelyn, Ian and Vena and others on their magnificent Grand Tour of Norway, but did manage to catch up with them in Oslo for a couple of days on their way back down thankfully as was experiencing extreme FOMO.
A large group of us attended the F1 ball in Central London, followed by my joining our global F1 reporter Edward at the Silverstone qualifying on the following Saturday enjoying trackside hospitality.
For the other races, Area 00 met up at the Marylebone sports bar to follow the action…
More recently, several of us attended the Goodwood FOS featuring the new Valour and Valiant with Fernando Alonso.
We were honoured to attend the 60 year celebration of 'Aston Martin in James Bond' reception, held at the Burlington Arcade with the gadget laden DB5 hidden inside along with the House of Q.
Last weekend we enjoyed a lovely lunch with John Simcock and Matt on the very sunny North Wales coast, followed later in the week joining Area 10 at Eton Dorney en-route to Jersey for a fantastic weekend with perfect sunshine and conditions.. Thank you Richard Bell, Edward and Stig.
We recently announced the destination and dates for our ‘very’ big adventure in 2025, being Canada and the United States, our 3rd continent in 3 years!
Next month we return to Morocco with Wheels of Thrill, heading over the Atlas mountains to the edge of the Sahara! Also our next RAC drinks will coincide with Bob and Caroline heading over from the States!
In the meantime I am still very much focused on eating my solid chocolate DB9 from the hotel in Istanbul, which I am determined to finish!!
