An amazing sunny day greeted us at The Windmill in St Peter, though the breeze kept things surprisingly chilly! We were met with a warm welcome and enjoyed a great turnout, with eight Aston Martins lined up outside, including a particularly special Vanquish that drew plenty of attention.
Twelve of us gathered at the table, and it’s fair to say the food was excellent and the service equally so. The only downside? The noise level inside, which made conversation a bit of a challenge, a shame, but it didn’t dampen the spirit of the morning.
It was especially lovely to see Jenny Storm and to welcome two new Aston owners, Cara and John, who brought their beautiful DB7 Volante to the gathering, a warm addition to the group. Ironically, it also marked my first event attending without my Vantage, the sun set on my ownership after it found a new home in the UK. A bittersweet moment, but the joy of meeting up with friends (and their cars) more than made up for it.
We’re now looking ahead to our next event: the Jersey Festival of Motoring. More details to follow soon, but as in previous years, we’ll be hosting our usual static display. If you’d like to take part, do let us know. It’s always a fun day… weather permitting!
