Area 10 - April 2026 Update

Area 10 Rep - Jeff Sears | Published on 3/30/2026

April 2026 Update

Our monthly meeting for March was held at The Crown Inn, Penn.  Once again, despite my promises, we were troubled by poor weather and only eight Astons parked up in the spacious car park reserved for our use.  Perhaps we will fill it if we return in the summer.  The staff certainly looked after us very well and we will definitely return soon.

Our April meeting, on the 9th will be held at The Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill from 6:30pm.  It will feature our annual quiz and AGM.  At the brief AGM (usually lasting 2 minutes) I will summarise our Area 10 accounts and hold our elections for rep and assistant rep.  Both Liz Constance and I are happy to continue for another year, and no one has been in touch to express interest in either of the roles. We would still welcome an assistant rep to help with events although you will see below that several members have come forward to coordinate additional events.

We will be holding our monthly meeting for May on the 14th at The Dinton Hermit, Ford near Aylesbury. They have allocated the restaurant for our sole use.

On Saturday 25 April we have two of our three fully-subscribed visits to the Wellesbourne Vulcan XM655 whilst the third visit is on Saturday 2 May. I will be in touch shortly with joining instructions for the 72 attendees.

I know of several Area 10 Astons which will be on display at the British GT Supercar Sunday at Silverstone.  Three teams are running Aston Martin GT3/GT4 Vantages, so there will be plenty of cars to cheer on.

The 20 Members taking part in our lawn bowls day at the Denham Bowls Club, Bucks on Wednesday 6 May should all have received full details of the day from me on 18 March.

I now have details of our “Feast on the Farm” to be held at Peterley Manor Farm on the evening of Wednesday 20 May.  This year they will do a barbecue buffet which will comprise Help yourself BBQ Feast Boards with:

  • BBQ meats from their inhouse butchery including burgers, marinated chicken, koftes etc.
  • Wood fired garlic breads
  • Seasonal homemade salads including potatoes, slaw and seasonal salads from their kitchen garden
  • Homemade sauces and dips
  • Wood fired vegetables

All followed by self-serve desserts including meringues, affogato etc.

The cost will be £35 per person payable on the night, but to help with catering, please let me know by email if you plan to attend.

On Sunday 24 May the Amberley Museum in West Sussex are holding a James Bond at Amberley event.  Several Area 10 Members attended last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.  The extensive museum has loads to see and experience, and was the site of Zorin’s Main Strike Mine in A View to a Kill.
