News:

St Georges Day April 23rd – Although I didn’t attend this personally, I understand this was a very enjoyable event and a good Aston display was had assisting area 7 (Kent) in supporting this event.

Charity Classic Car Run, Denbies Wine Estate to Historic Dockyard, Chatham. This was a fun event with a good mix of cars, vans and military vehicles, leaving Denbies following a good English breakfast taking some good roads (Non Motorway) to the dockyard. A superb museum for all the family along with an excellent, virtual tour of the days of when they built the wooden ships, (The Victory) in the dock yard which it is famous for.

Magnificent Motors – Eastbourne, an event held on the seafront a good selection of cars, Area 16 had a great turnout for this, 9 cars on Saturday and 8 on the Sunday with a good variety, Saturday was the better weather, but it did stay dry on the Sunday. For more pictures see Area 16 Section on amoc.org

Our May Club Meeting was held at The Five Bells, West Chiltingdon, Pulborough. A lovely little pub with an interesting drive through some excellent country roads, it was a shame the weather was not better, but we had a good turnout of members, thanks to the landloard and his wife for looking after us so well, also for Geoff / Jeff for coming along with his white DB6, being local to the pub, he thought he should come along, his first club meeting for some 34 years, hopefully he won’t leave it quite so long till next time. For more pictures see Area 16 Section on amoc.org

The English Festival, Horsham town event - was an excellent day, thank you to HWM for sponsoring this event and for all the Aston’s who made the town centre display a pleasure to see and be a part of. We had 26 Aston’s displayed ranging from DB2 to the DB11. A special thanks goes to Mike Bowman, an Area 16 volunteer, who coordinated this event for me, the organisation worked extremely well along with the event team of Horsham council. When it came to 3pm, it was engines start, lots of noise and a guard of honor from Henry VIII army of soldiers with their swords and flags. For more pictures see Area 16 Section on amoc.org
