LATEST UPDATE ON DAVE WHITING’S DB6 VOLANTE
My Volante has received its final coat of primer. It is scheduled to have the stoneguard applied under the bonnet and in other areas of the underside of the car tomorrow, Thursday 12th January. Then the gloss black guide coat will be applied and the car transported back to Pete Scott’s premises for him to build the steering and suspension back on to the tub, and get it back onto a set of slave wheels. The paint needs to settle for 2 weeks whilst the suspension is completed, and it will then go back to the paint shop to be flatted and painted with its topcoat in Mink. Then back to Pete for assembly of the rest of the car and Karen to do the upholstery and new hood.
Prestige Paintworks
Chris Pursell and his team at Prestige Paintworks provided an excellent morning at his premises for area 16 to visit, below is a extract from

Twas a sunny Saturday morning in Sussex. Yes folks it was sunny and it was Sussex the completion of both statements never felt so good as the wafts of fresh bacon butties filled the workshop of Prestige Paintworks Ltd. I never have quite understood Ltd especially from such a prestigious automotive restoration pleasure dome. I have never found any of their work to be limited in any way.
I wander from the point frequently like an untamed stallion and it is your job as reader to sharply pull back on the reins, forcing me to toe the line and stay en pointe. Or of course you could just skip read my gibberish. "Skip Read my Gibberish" as I'm sure you know is a Cornish form of Morris Dancing prominent around Liskeard in the early seventeenth century. Meanwhile on topic, below is a one off Aston Martin that Prestige have returned to its original amethyst. A colour not to everyone's taste but original never the less. We'll follow this restoration all the way and then pop it into the cove to bring our own TLC to the mixing pot.
A LITTLE ASTON MARTIN GALLERY IN AND OUT OF PRESTIGE PAINTWORKS
The sun brought out a nice mix of Feltham, Newport Pagnell and Gaydon era cars to Prestige, with a car park full of enthusiasts while inside the workshop, currently being restored, were a 1958 DBMk3 Drophead barn find for complete restoration, DB5 for a Silver Birch transformation, a 1969 DB6 Volante that arrived in Masons Black and has had the clock turned back to 1969 and is now back to Amethyst. A 1972 DBS for complete nut and bolt body off restoration arriving in Silver Birch that will eventually leave in Aegean Blue. A 1973 AMV8 for complete restoration sums up the trend for Feltham and Newport Pagnell at Prestige with later Gaydon cars occasionally making appearances for some TLC

A MESSAGE FROM GARY WIGZELL OF AMOC AREA 16
I would like to say a massive thank you to Chris and his team at Prestige Paintworks for putting on such a great and interesting display along with the Bacon Rolls and coffee. With around 17 Aston's in attendance, on such a good sunny morning, what better way to spend a Saturday morning for breakfast. Everyone was amazed, and I am sure appreciated, how much hard work goes into keeping a working body shop in such a clean and presentable condition, of which we know was not just done for our visit, but this is the standard that Prestige Paintworks work to, which reflects on the quality of the work they produce. It was excellent to have a number of cars on display in various stages of restoration, demonstrating the various stages of such projects, even down to the peddle car that was in mid restoration. Our thanks also go out to Gun Hill Studios for an amazing display and example of what goes into recording some of Prestige Paintworks finished work, and giving our member's the opportunity to experience such a professional automotive studio, Our thanks also to Jaguar Select, just around the corner, who also opened their doors for our members, Adam also brought along his Race car as a display, Our members also found this of interest as we do have some who stick with British, and own the odd Jaguar also.

Horsham English Festival – 7th May
For those of you who want to make a day of it some will be attending the Goodwood Breakfast Club earlier that morning. This will allow you to get into the public parking areas without undue queuing, have a stroll around the exotica , perhaps a bacon roll and coffee and leave in plenty of time for the Horsham event. Mike will lead a convoy to Horsham from the public parking area across the road from the circuit at 10.00
You can register to display your car amongst the exotics at Goodwood but you will need to do this separately. Mike Bowman is co-ordinating both events. Email or call him to
indicate your interest. There are three decisions Mike needs from you;
I want to come to Horsham
I want to eat in Horsham
