Robert Blakemore & Darren Turner win St.John Horsfall Trophy races
AMOC's coveted St. John Horsfall race was held at the Snetterton Historic 200 meeting today. The 71st running was included with the help of our good friends at Motor Racing Legends in the ever popular Mad Jack's pre war race.
Quality not quantity was the order of the day with three Aston Martins entered. Series stalwarts Robert Blakemore and Edward Bradley gave us a treat of a race in their 1936 AM Speed Model and 1935 AM Ulster respectively.
Having recently purchased the team car LM4 Jonathan Lupton was naturally keen to race it. Three time Le Mans class winner for Aston Martin Racing works driver Darren Turner didn't need asking twice to sample some Aston history. Despite a misfire resulting in several visits to the pits, they persevered completing the race.
Robert Blakemore was delighted to win the scratch element of the race finishing first on the road. Lupton and Turner deservedly won the prestigious St John Horsfall race handicap trophy as reward for their tenacity.
