Rich in history and beautiful inside and out, Amberley Castle will make for a wonderful destination for our drive where we will then be treated to a gastronomic lunch. We have booked private dining in their Great Room, which was built in 1165 and is a fine example of Norman architecture with its high lancet windows, open fireplace, oak flooring, tapestry and suits of armour. Amberley Castle has a long held reputation for delivering outstanding cuisine, and the selected menu (attached for your information) sounds delicious. This unique venue benefits from a long driveway up to the gatehouse, either side of which we will be invited to park our cars, which should make a for a great photograph. The plan for the day would be as follows: 11.00: Meet at The Queens Head at East Clandon 11.30: Set off in batches of cars on a pre-assigned route* 12.30: Arrive at the castle for a glass of bubbles 13.00: Lunch 15:00: Live video chat with Phil, dialling in from New York 16.00: Departure at your leisure (we have the room booked for the whole afternoon) Cost is £120 per person, payable in advance to AMOC Area 1
