Our preferred face-to-face venue is the Carpenter‘s Arms, Stanton Wick (BS39 4BX) although we have one or two ‘away days‘ during the summer months. Jersey International Motoring Festival for 2021 has now been confirmed for the 10-12 September 2021. The full programme of events is still to be published on their website but with the change in dates they are now running straight after the Jersey International Air Display so you may be able to see both events.

We had planned to go in 2020 but for obvious reasons the event did not take place, so a number of Area 13 members plan to go this year instead. This is not a formal Area 13 event and so members will need to arrange their own travel arrangements and hotel booking. However, John Goode who organised the event for 2020 is happy to be a point of contact for any Area 13 members going or considering going and looks forward to seeing some other Area 13 members there. You can coordinate your plans with John Goode, contact via Area 13 email address.

I am sure that many AMOC members will remember Roger Moore’s swansong as James Bond in “A View to a Kill” in 1985. The basic storyline was that 007 stops Max Zorin (played by Christopher Walken) destroying Silicon Valley. The film also starred Grace Jones as May Day who actually saves the day! As part of the film was filmed at Amberley Museum, they are hosting a James Bond Celebration Weekend that is planned to take place on 25th & 26th September. The museum trust would like to offer free entry to AMOC members (plus one guest) bringing a display car to this event on the Saturday or Sunday.

All types of Aston Martins are welcome, especially those models that either appear in Ian Fleming‘s books or the films, such as (AM DB2/4 Mk111 in the "Goldfinger" book), DB5 in that (and other) films, AM DBS in "On Her Majesty‘s Secret Service", AM V8 Vantage Volante in "The Living Daylights", AM Vanquish in "Die Another Day", AM DBS V12 in "Casino Royale"

Thank you to David Hubbard for finding the event.

On Saturday 25th September we are joining forces with the Shuttleworth Collection and The British Rotorcraft Association to celebrate the release of the new bond film.

The Shuttleworth Collection is the home to "Little Nellie" the Autogyro from the film You Only Live Twice, which will be on display outside the hangers.

The British Rotorcraft Association are planning to bring at least 20 Autogyros as a fly-in, they may try to break their record of 61.

We have been allocated 250 spaces in the paddock along the flight line for Aston Martins, to spend the day enjoying the Autogyros and visiting the amazing aircraft collection in the hangers, as well as the Swiss Garden and other parts of the grounds.

UPDATE: 01/07/2021 89 Cars Already Booked!

You can bring a picnic or purchase refreshments from the cafe.

We are hoping that an open air cinema showing of "You Only Live Twice" can be organised, so watch out for more details of this and other attractions that are being planned.

We have been given a special price of £10 per car which covers the driver and one passenger, to book tickets click on the REGISTER NOW button.

Children under 15 are free.

If you have an Aston that can carry more than two people then additional adult tickets call be purchased for £15 p.p. by going to this separate link:

https://shuttleworth.merlintickets.co.uk/product/SHUTTLEWORTH

DO NOT BOOK ASTON MARTIN CAR SPACES VIA THAT LINK, OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT GET A CAR SPACE FOR YOUR ASTON MARTIN, THE LINK ABOVE IS FOR ADDITIONAL ADULT TICKETS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ATTENDING.

As a final event of our summer programme, we have been given a unique opportunity to visit Bowood House and Garden (Calne Wiltshire) on Sunday 26 Sept. Entry to Bowood is normally £14.25 per person, but we have arranged a price for the day of just £10 per car, including all occupants, for AMOC members arriving in an Aston. In addition, rather than parking in the general car park, we will be allowed to arrive via the private drive of the estate and then will be parking on the private lawn in front of the house. From this location you can access all the facilities of the estate.

Booking required.

Bowood is the home of the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne and will be open from 11:30 to 3:30. The house is surrounded by an Italian inspired terrace garden, a private walled garden (not inc in our booking), an herbaceous border and sits in 100 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland by Capability Brown. There is a café in the grounds and gift shop within the house, but the restaurant will be closed. However, the house is happy for us to bring our own food and enjoy a picnic on the lawn in front of the house. Please note that the site does not allow dogs and smoking or vaping is also not allowed.

Arrival time is from 11:00 and departure is any time before 16:00pm. To gain access, you will need to pay in advance and register your Aston details, so you will not be able to arrive without registering and payment. We will try and arrange meeting points from key areas to convoy to the site if demand is sufficient, so let us know if you would like to join a convoy.

Let‘s make this a spectacular finale to the summer with a full turnout to support this event.
